Karma And Toothache

Karma indeed is a big, bad bitch. I was making fun of Carpe Diem's woes of his teeth bracelet got tightened and the torturous sensation that he had to go through. And since yesterday after my banana leaf rice lunch, I felt that something wasn't right on the left side of my jaw. It had that numb and itchy feeling where you just couldn't stop poking it with your tongue. And if you did, it would only make it worse.

The numb and itchy feeling quickly turned into a mild pain with pulsating sensation. By now I'm quite sure that the pain was caused by the 90%-still-hidden-under-the-gum wisdom tooth. I had this experience before and I didn't like it, still don't. I have no idea why it flared up this time. I'm pretty sure I drank enough water. Was it the banana leaf rice? I had that many times and it never caused any toothache before. Maybe it's because I didn't work out and sweat for two days in a row? Maybe I had heavy lunches and dinners till the god of 6 packs frowned upon me and gave me this warning? Or maybe I just think too much?

I drank more water, hoping that the pain was caused by the body's heatiness. The gum around the wisdom tooth area now felt loose and soft, compared to the rest of the gum. Pain struck me even if I was just swallowing saliva. Le boyfriend asked me to go see a dentist, but I didn't. I don't know any good dentists around, and by that time it was already late. I just kept reminding myself not to poke that area with my tongue anymore to worsen the condition.

Luckily my bad Karma was all paid up through the night. When I woke up this morning, the pain was almost gone and the gum was almost back to normal. I think I should chew on the other side so that the affected side can fully recover. Hopefully it will not flare up again later on.

God of 6 packs, I have learnt my lesson and will not make fun of other people's misery no more. And I promise you I will do more crunches and eat less everyday. Amen.
